Some of you might remember Kim from her earlier days
with the band Mayfair Laundry. She's also written the
theme song for the Bibleman video series along with
penning songs for fellow Christian artists; Bryan
Duncan, Kim Boyce, and Nicole C. Mullen.
Kim's ready now though to start her solo music career
with this debut release entitled, "So This Is It."
Kim is backed on this release by a band made up of
all-star caliber musicians but it's Kim vocals that grab
the spotlight. Her vocals are wide ranging and melt to
fit the mold of each song.
The one common thread that runs through all of the songs
is Kim's passion. These aren't just words this is the
pouring out of her emotions into each song. Kim says
that, "...these are my most personal songs ever."
The songs are written for the hurting soul and deal with
having an overcoming spirit that only can come from
God's grace and love for us.
Kim mixes up the song tempos from melodic piano ballads
to string enriched spiced up pop tracks like, "Fill Me
Up."
You'll also find a duet with Kim and Bryan Duncan on the
track, "Wait (I'm Gonna Get There)."
This release really showcases Kim's musical talents and
passion for the Lord.
This CD would make a great gift of love for someone you
know that's going through a period of hurting and
struggling in their life.

Legacy is comprised of Grammy nominated songwriter
George Brantley Ratzlaff, formerly with the band
Potliquor. Since giving his life to Jesus he now writes,
produces, and performs only Christian music. Joining him
in the group is Paige Lewis Ratzlaff and Laura Cassidy
Ratzlaff.
This cd really blew me away. This is one of those
releases that transcends appealing to one specific
musical style. No matter what your favorite style of
music is this release will quench your musical appetite.
You'll find eleven original songs and arrangements all
of them were written, arranged, produced, programmed,
engineered, and mixed by George except for the song,
"Everything." That track was written, arranged, and
performed by Paige Lewis Ratzlaff.
The songs manage to create a delightful cocktail mix of
styles using large portions of rock music along with
splashes of alternative, techno, dance, r&b and soul
styles.
Most of the songs feature the lead vocals of George
Brantley Ratzlaff. For those of you old enough to
remember they have a Joe Cocker trait to them.
Several of the songs do feature female lead vocals. One
of them is the song, "Everything" performed by Paige
Lewis Ratzlaff. It's a well done p&w piano ballad. Paige
also performs the lead and background vocals on the
song, "You Cover Me."
The lead vocal on the song "You" are handled by Laura
Cassidy Ratzlaff. This song really peaked my interest
with its unique techno, dance, hiphop, and r&b blending
of styles.
Both of the ladies vocals are energetic and rocking
while still smooth flowing.
The music on this cd grabs your attention from track one
with its rich symphonic sound and doesn't let go. One of
the most powerful songs lyrically is, "Less Than A
Minute." A song that deals with how quickly things can
happen and change everything in your life. The song uses
the 9-11 terrorist attack on the twin towers in N.Y.C.
to drive home that point.
The only problem I had with this CD is that I didn't
want it to end. It's fresh, inventive and powerful. Get
this release and open your musical world to a new and
rich experience.
Another thing that makes this release special is instead
of buying it in the normal way to get the cd you need to
make a donation to the Jesus Film Project (Campus
Crusade For Christ). Contact information and details on
how to do that are available at their website.
